Energy Independence - Introduction:
We live in a high energy consuming civilization. It is essential
to shift to predominantly renewable energy sources in the
United States and the rest of the world if we are to support
the energy requirements of the 6.6 billion inhabitants of
this planet, while trying to reverse the devastating effects
of many years of environmental neglect.
Despite what the nuclear, coal, and oil industry lobbyists
want you to believe, technologies exist which will allow industrialized
nations to begin to eliminate the use of these three poisons
within a few years. All we need is the will to do so. All
we need are citizens who will elect politicians mandating
the use of renewable energy to be implemented within the next
10 to 20 years, while simultaneously eliminating the use of
nuclear, coal, and oil, within that same time frame.
Nuclear Energy
Nuclear power plants are dangerous and have proven to be
more expensive than coal or fossil fuel power plants after
factoring in all the costs including the storage cost of nuclear
waste. Nuclear plants and nuclear waste storage sites are
especially susceptible to terrorist threats. As a consequence,
no new nuclear plants have been built in the U.S. for over
25 years and no new plants are even in the planning stages.
Nuclear energy provides only 8% of the energy requirements
in the U.S.
Coal
Despite what the industry would like for us to believe through
its extensive P.R. promotion , the phrase, “clean coal”
is an insult to human intelligence. Coal is inherently dirty
and unhealthy throughout every phase of its mining, transportation
and use. In the U.S. alone, the devastation to the surface
of the earth from coal mining is responsible for ruining 400,000
acres of forests and 19,000 miles of streams. The burning
of coal is responsible for spewing out sulfur, oxides of nitrogen,
mercury, and very fine particulates that lodge in the lungs
and are known to cause cancer. There are plans to build 150
more coal plants in the U.S. which will further increase toxic
emissions by 10%. Energy from coal provides about 23% of the
U.S. energy requirements.
Petroleum
Like nuclear power, oil is a cause and an instrument of war.
It has also been proven to be the most destructive to the
environment. The United States consumes 20 million barrels
of oil per day of which 2/3rds of this is imported, much of
it from unfriendly nations.
The U.S. consumes 25% of the world’s oil and the demand
keeps growing. The OPEC nations could shut off our oil at
any time; this would have a devastating effect and could bring
our industries to a stand still, as during the 1973 oil embargo.
Most people are unaware of the enormous amount of wealth flowing
from our country to the oil producing nations - more than
$300 billion in 2006 alone! Think of the jobs that would be
created if that money was instead spent in this country, developing
solar, wind, biomass, biofuel and hydrogen technologies.
In America, using fuel and electricity is a necessity for
most people. Our lifestyle and economy are dependent upon
these resources. They are not optional. Most electric plants
in America are regulated, due to the fact they, for the most
part, have a monopoly on selling electricity to consumers.
Most electric utilities have an approximate profit margin
of 20% and must seek governmental permission to justify a
price increase. Therefore, these price increases are usually
small. In comparison, consider oil company profits: Currently,
in Saudi Arabia, it costs about $1.00 per barrel to produce
oil which is sold for over $90.00 per barrel. Oil companies
basically have an energy monopoly. They are allowed to make
tremendous profits with practically no governmental oversight.,
for this only reason they have tremendous resources to lobby
and gain the influence of our elected officials.
Very serious air quality problems arise from refining crude
oil. As a result, no new refineries have been built in America
for over 30 years and no new refineries are likely to be built
in the future; consequently shortages will be inevitable.
Despite partial governmental controls, the brew of toxins
emitted from burning oil is very unhealthy and has continued
to increase unchecked. Our families, and especially our children
and the elderly, will continue to suffer. The most persistent
killer in the air, tiny particles, too small to see, produced
from the combustion of coal and oil, are still unregulated
by the government. These ultra fine particles lodge in the
deep recesses of our lungs and enter the heart and bloodstream.
They are known to be responsible for causing an epidemic of
asthma and cancers.
When we factor in the true cost of oil, we have to consider
not only the price we pay at the pump, but the cost of shipping
oil across the oceans, storing it, transporting it over land,
the cost of our military to “protect” the supply
lines, the cost of health care due to poisonous effects of
breathing polluted air, and the cost of human lives from war
and illness. Energy from oil provides about 40% of the U.S.
energy requirements.
Solar Energy
Currently solar energy provides less than 1% of the U.S.
requirements. It is a calculated fact that if we covered less
than 1% of the surface area of the U.S. (approximately 114
square miles) with solar cells, the sun would provide enough
energy to run the entire country including powering all vehicles
with hydrogen made by electrolysis. This does not even take
into consideration additional energy from wind, geothermal,
hydroelectric, biomass and biofuels. Utilizing solar energy
alone means America could be 100% energy self sufficient All
vehicles and industries combined would produce close to zero
emissions. We would have clean air and far less health problems.
We would not bleed tremendous wealth to and be held hostage
by unfriendly nations which have the power to cut off our
energy supplies on a whim. The only reason we have not implemented
the use of solar and other clean renewable energy sources
in America is because of greed, corruption, and insensibility
on the part of a very few powerful individuals who control
these industries. This situation is about to change……………
New Technologies
In addition to solar energy and other renewable resources,
there are many new, and even a few old technologies that can
produce clean energy from the environment. These include:
new hydro-turbines that do not require a dam to generate power,
thin film solar cells, power and heat production from biomass,
various renewable biofuels, new efficient wind turbines, water-current
powered electric turbines, and new electric generators that
are powered by environmental energy instead of coal or oil.
The Plan
Two new prototype environmental engines, the Plasma Arc (PA)
engine and the Expanded Gas (EG) engine, have been developed
for the purpose of generating electricity. The engines are
rated at sufficient horse-power to turn a standard generator
which produces between 2500 and 5000 kilowatts of power. The
engine-generator combination is housed in a cabinet that looks
similar to a diesel system of the same size. In fact, the
exterior cabinet of these generators will be made to look
exactly like a diesel powered system complete with an exhaust
stack and a fuel tank. The generators will be much quieter
than comparable diesel units and will produce almost zero
emissions. However, neither the EG or PA engines will require
petroleum for fuel.
The generator systems and electrical output will be monitored
and controlled from a central location via satellite link.
The generator user (consumer) will only be billed for the
number of kilowatts consumed each month. The company will
pay for the costs of operation and maintenance as part of
the user agreement. The EG and PA engines and generators will
be mass-produced in a foreign country with the assistance
of a joint venture partner, with abundant financial resources.
The joint venture partner has agreed to finance the mass-production
of the units in return for a portion of the proceeds from
the sale of electricity produced by the units. The engines
and generators will never be leased or sold. Only the electricity
produced by the generators will be sold.
Distribution of Generators
There will be no media or advertising of any kind involved
in the distribution of the generators. Consumers (clients)
such as large farms, mining operations, industrial facilities,
etc. will be contacted in person by a company representative.
Potential clients will receive a demonstration of the unit
by an authorized company representative and the generator
will be made available for the client to use at no charge
for a fixed trial period. By using the generator, consumers
will save at least 25% of their current utility supplier’s
bill. Clients will also receive a monetary incentive or electricity
credits for assisting in the distribution of our generators
to other related clients.
Profit Potential
The potential profit from the sale of electricity produced
by our generators is quite staggering. For example, if a consumer
normally pays $100,000.00 per month for electricity, we may
sell the same number of kilowatts for $75,000.00. Our depreciation
and maintenance costs would be approximately $5,000.00 per
month, with another $5,000.00 per month reserved for incentives
and commissions. Therefore, the profit would be $65,000.00
per month for the life of the contract! Within 6 to 9 months,
production is scheduled to begin at 100 units and increase
at least 100 units each month for the next few years.
Stockholder Benefits
Only company stockholders or trained, authorized professionals
will be allowed to represent the company to potential clients.
Stockholder dividend profits shall be paid (4) times per year,
or as directed by the board and stockholder prerogative. Stockholders
will first be given the authorization to assist in the distribution
of the generators and to earn a substantial commission by
doing so.
